Officials

The angling officials are responsible for the controlling of an angling event and the calculation of the results after the weigh-in of the fish. The officials receive training on mainly two levels of participation namely:

  • Provincial
  • National

The training of the official ensures that the officials get qualified to complete specific tasks during a competition, championships and tournaments. The following are some of the functional positions which the officials full fill during competitions, championships and tournaments:

  • Zone official
  • Control official
  • Head official

The training of the provincial coaches is done by the different Provincial Angling Committees. The training of national officials is being done by the National Officials Committee. These training normally takes place on an annual basis.
